Digtal Downloads

Each image is provided as a print-ready, uncompressed JPEG file.  A download link will be made available immediately following your purchase.

You'll receive each image you purchase in an uncompressed JPEG file format.

A JPEG format is provided for convenience and flexibility.  The JPEG format is supported by all digital devices and can also be used at both physical and online print shops.

All images are provided at maximum quality and resolution.  The resolution of each image varies depending on the aspect ratio (landscape, portrait, panorama, wide angle panorama) of the image.

You will find the resolution of each image within the relevant digital download product description.  As a guide the following resolutions are provided:

• Aspect ratio 3:2 - 12000 x 7994px (96 Megapixels)
• Aspect ratio 2:1 - 12000 x 6000px (72 Megapixels)
• Aspect ratio 3:1 - 12000 x 4000px (48 Megapixels)

These are exceptionally high-resolution images, generally, an iPhone produces images 4042px at the long edge whilst most digital cameras produce images 5000px at the long edge.

Yes, upon completing your purchase you'll immediately be able to download the image files.

Many photo labs suggest digital files be provided at a resolution of 300 PPI (Pixels Per Inch).  To ascertain the maximum size you can print your image at 300 PPI, divide your image dimensions by 300. For example if your image has dimension of 6000 x 4000px, then 6,000/300 = 20″ long by 4,000/300 = 13.33″ high.

You can not increase the image size without reducing your PPI.  The lower your PPI the more grainy and pixelated your image will appear.

It is very important not to get hung up on the 300 PPI requirement. 300 PPI is only a guideline intended for prints that are viewed up close such as in a magazine, photo book or similar. Larger images are often printed at much lower PPI.

Commercial billboards are generally printed at just 10 or 15 PPI to achieve their enormous size.  If you were looking at a billboard from a meter away you'd notice the image is of poor quality, but they were never intended to be viewed up close.  From their intended viewing distance of 50+ metres the image appears crisp to the human eye.

Don't be afraid to use a lower PPI when attempting to achieve a larger print size, providing your intended viewing distance is sufficient to disguise that lower PPI.

As a guide:

• 0.6m - 300PPI
• 1m - 180PPI
• 1.5m - 120PPI
• 2m - 90PPI
• 3m - 60PPI
• 5m - 35PPI
• 10m - 18PPI
• 15m - 12PPI
• 50m - 4PPI

Different substrates also benefit from higher PPI.  For example, when printing on canvas the ink spreads a little, meaning a lower PPI is disguised, gloss papers aren't as forgiving and generally require higher PPI's.

If you're unsure I suggest you present your purchased image to your nearest professional photo lab, who will be able to provide the best advice regarding your intended use and perhaps produce physical examples for you to view

I recommend you approach your local professional photo lab to print your purchased image.

They'll be best placed to help you select the material and framing options to suit your needs.

If you wish to print using an online provider I'd recommend Snapfish or Fitzgerald Photo. Both have online mockup generators and can post printed products such as framed, canvas and acrylics Australia-wide.

All images are provided as high resolution, uncompressed print-ready files.  Printing is a complex topic and there are endless reasons why the result is not as expected.

Firstly, the printed image will only ever be as good as the printer and printing service you engage to print the image.

A commercial printer will undoubtedly obtain much better results than what you can produce at home.

Further, not all commercial printing services are equal.  Many, particularly online printing services prioritise price over quality.  Lower-quality printing substrates, inks and cost-saving techniques all result in a lower-quality final result.

For the best possible result, I suggest you take your purchased image files to your nearest professional photo lab for print.  They will be able to assist you in overcoming any technical issues you're experiencing.

It is also important to note that the colours of the image on your screen may differ from the final print.  This occurs when your viewing platform, whether it be a computer monitor, smartphone, tablet etc is not professionally colour-calibrated and displays the image to you using incorrect tones.

Once again a professional photo lab may be able to assist you in viewing the image on a colour-calibrated screen before printing.
